This modality focuses on the active individual and is designed to assure the health and well being of the athlete and to enhance athletic performance. It can take one or many of the following five forms: Recovery, Rehabilitation, Remedial, Rehabilitative, or Event Massage. Compared to classic Swedish massage, Sports Massage is more upbeat and invigorating allowing the athlete to rise from the table refreshed; addresses more specific muscles related to a particular activity; and addresses and assists in treating and preventing injuries.

This is a great modality to choose if you are training for a big event or have just completed an athletic endeavor such as a marathon or even a weekend hike.
